Just a little creative outlet for a poor Minnesota boy who found himself with a wife, three kids, two goats, a dog, two cats, house and hobby farm in Japan. Don't really know how it happened, but I like it :)

"Higanbana" Lycoris radiata (red spider lily)
The Higanbana is a beautiful flower, but don't pick them and give them in a bouquet, since they are to honor your dead ancestors.
And every year when the higanbana blooms, we know it is time to harvest the rice.
